Its a Strange, Strange New Day

This was the first piece that I produced for the Moving Image part of my degree. It is all shot on Super8 film and then post edited in Premier Pro. This tells the story of a young man remembering a girl that he was in love with, and daydreaming about running after her. When I first shot this i had 3 minutes of the chasing footage and as I had to present it I shot it shot for shot in order of appearance but it showed a slightly different story to the one it shows now, but by combining what i had with some other footage i had i changed it into something i preferred. I hope you enjoy

(Unfotunately the player on here is mildly SLIGHTLY rubbish, so i put it on Vimeo instead, the link is here - http://vimeo.com/17191262)

A Selection of B&W and Colour Film from London and Plymouth

This is a small Portfolio of photos shot on a selection of 35mm Film cameras, I have a huge love of film as the quality is unsurpassable with my current budget. The photos always have a much more distinctive feel as well that is very hard to replicate with Digital. There is also something in the mystery of film, that you can shoot a whole 36 exposure roll and get nothing except for one photo that comes out perfectly.

Brides Maid - 3rd Jun 2009
While working with an amazing Photographer (Tony Marsh) up in Scotland, we were one day shooting a wedding, while the guests where standing around after the ceremony, the youngest bridesmaid donned one of the hats of one of the older guests and while sat perched on the stool of a sofa. This is my favourite photo of mine to date, for the feel, colour and figure/ground contrast.

Lottie H

Lottie H - 22nd Aug 2010
Lottie is one of the shyest girls i have ever met. Without knowing this one would
believe that it would be very easy to capture her obvious radiating beauty, but this
was less of a set up shot, it was more like fishing, i sat an waited until she was ready
and i feel the end result to be very pleasing, while i have no desire to ever hire her as a model.

First Photos for My Course

Gul -  23rd Sept 2010

Fly the Flags - 23rd Sept 2010

Lighthouse - 23rd Sept 2010
Sin - 23rd Sept 2010
This is the photo that i selected for crit as i felt it was (and still is) a very strong image that i am still very proud of. I especially like the strength of focus on her right eye as it gives the viewer a place to start when viewing this piece.
